Dr. Matthew E. Robertson was born and raised in the Republic of Panama, and speaks Spanish fluently. He attended Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on a US Army Scholarship, and graduated near the top of his class in 2003. He completed a 4 year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in San Antonio, Texas at Brooke Army Medical Center, the Army’s premier Level 1 teaching hospital. Dr. Robertson was then stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas, where he served 4 years as Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Irwin Army Community Hospital. During his last 3 years at Ft. Riley, Dr. Robertson traveled to Wichita twice a month to see patients in Dr. Gagnon’s office.

Since June 2011, Dr. Robertson has been a full-time member of Dr. Gagnon’s team. His scope of practice includes extractions, implants, bone grafting, delivery of general anesthesia, elective orthognathic and reconstructive surgeries, sleep apnea surgery, and emergent management of facial trauma and infections.

Dr. Robertson is Board-Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Fellow with the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the Kansas Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association, and Wichita District Dental Society. He volunteers with the Kansas Mission of Mercy and Dental Lifeline, and is an adjunct professor of Oral Surgery at Wichita State University’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry.

MAJ Robertson continues to serve his country as a Dental Officer in the Kansas Army National Guard. He and his wife Gabriela, a sculptor and painter, love living in Wichita, and enjoy hunting, traveling and the arts.
